HARBOR FREIGHT OPEN CALL!!

Kickpigeonkids is excited to announce HARBOR FREIGHT, a group exhibition to be graciously housed by Arts Fort Worth. We invite anyone to apply.

For this open call artists will be asked to submit images or videos of up to 3 completed works. Your submission can be any medium (we mean any). If chosen, your work will be curated into the show, along with an additional item to be provided by the artist: something that was made by someone who is not you and who would not consider themselves to be an artist. You do not need to submit images of this item in the application.

ABOUT THE CURATORS

The Kickpigeon Kids are the team of Max Marshall (@x_marshallarts_x) and Cosmo Jones (@doctoracula), a collaborative outfit exploring a kind of curation that works to demystify ART by creating spaces where anyone can join us in questioning the norms of how art is made, shown and seen. As artists themselves, both Max and Cosmo work with assemblages and found objects. As curators, they use their combined experiences to create installations out of participating artist’s work and stuff, making the show itself into a collaborative group work. HOW TO APPLY

Fill out the provided google form with your basic information
Create an image list in the form of a google doc (format ex. FirstName_LastName-ImageList) containing the following:
1. Images of up to 3 completed works (10 image limit) or 3 videos (format ex. [FirstName_LastName-Title_Submission1] or [FirstName_LastName-Title_Submission1_Detail])
2. Share the document with KickpigeonKids@gmail.com

3. Once everything is submitted we’ll send you a confirmation email

4. Artists will be notified of acceptance by August 4, 2023

EXHIBITION SCHEDULE

Submission Deadline: July 28, 2023 by 11:59 PM CST

Notification of Acceptance: August 4
Artwork Drop Off: August 28, 2023 10AM - 5PM
Exhibition Opening: September 1, 2023

Opening Reception: September 9, 2023 6-9PM Fall Gallery Night

Exhibition Closes: September 30, 2023

Artwork pick-up: October 1, 2023 10AM - 3PM

DONATIONS

We request that you make a $5 donation to Kickpigeon Kids along with your submission. This is in no way required to submit. Donations will help to offset the cost of things like hardware, outside installation materials and reception food and drinks. Donate via Venmo here.

There will be a 40% commission on sales.
